CCTV Cameras

There are hundreds of different cameras available today but they mainly fall into four categories which are listed below. Within each of these categories there are also areas of choice such as day/night or low light options, infra red, back light compensation etc.

At Quatrix we carry out a survey to ascertain requirements of the system, location of cameras, distance to objects, light available to ensure that all cameras meet the requirements specified.

Dome Camera

As the name suggests the camera is mounted within a dome housing which hides the camera from view, preventing any onlookers from knowing if they are being filmed or not. It also gives peace of mind as the dome is extremely visible and deters theft. Various cameras can be mounted within these domes.

Fixed Lens Camera

The fixed lens camera is a sealed unit housing a fixed lens and power board. These are reasonably cheap cameras but can be a good solution for many small offices/shops and can also be waterproof.

Full Bodied Camera

The full bodied cameras are generally better quality and more expensive cameras as they normally have a variable lens and more sophisticated features such as anti glare and low light compensation.

PTZ Camera

The PTZ (pan, tilt and zoom camera) allows the remote operator the facility to move the camera remotely which gives a much better field of vision and flexibility to the system. These cameras are a valuable asset to warehouses etc but have a larger price tag.
